We are a dynamic and growing company seeking a talented and motivated Licensing Manager to join our team.


Reporting to the Director of Licensing and Merchandising, the Licensing Manager will work existing relationships as well as develop new opportunities where the primary focus will be games and collectible toy categories.  The ideal candidate will have a collaborative spirit, be driven, organized and detailed.


The core responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage the day to day licensing business of accounts in both hard lines and soft lines
  • Support the implementation and execution of departmental goals.
  • Pitch, evaluate & negotiate deals with existing partners and new leads.
  • Perform due diligence for all Licensee Deal Memos and obtain all necessary approvals.
  • Work alongside Approval Associates to insure account's product development is reflective of the Licensed Product Items in the contract.
  • Act as point person for legal in all matters relating to account's contracts. Ensure clear and timely communication with all internal and external parties in all contract matters.
  • Responsible for annual budgeting and projecting for account's revenue, financial planning & development and implementation of strategic licensing plans to hit revenue targets, grow the licensing business and generate incremental revenue.
  • Participate and assist with the planning and attendance of annual Licensing Show, Toy Fair and other trade shows

The minimum qualifications & requirements for this position include:

  • BA or BS degree and/or equivalent working experience
  • Preferred 4-6 years' experience in licensing or related field 
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations or equivalent
  • Minimal travel

Desired Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Knowledge of the trend or entertainment retail market in key product categories including games/toys
  • Strong skills and experience in PowerPoint or Keynote
  • Strong organizational skills along with the ability to handle multiple priorities are essential
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Flexible to change, a creative thinker and problem solver, and accustomed to working in teams as well as a self-starting individual.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and credibly with external partners, retail buyers and internal partners
  • Ability to create and effectively deliver pitch presentations to partners
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating licensing contracts and closing deals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to take direction
  • Knowledge of and a passion for entertainment, animation, and pop culture is a plus
